Starbucks Coffee Roasters plans to open its first US store in the Chicago area, the company announced Wednesday.
The chain said it plans to have 50 Starbucks stores in the U.S. by 2021, with the first location set to open by the end of 2021.
Starbucks plans to make the first American Starbucks coffee available in the country by 2021.
The company said the Chicago store will open in late summer.
In a news release, Starbucks said it will offer espresso and cappuccino beverages, and will have a variety of specialty beverages.
The chain has been expanding in the United States in recent years, opening more than 30 stores in 20 states since 2014.
It said it expects to hire more than 500 full-time workers at its Chicago store by 2021 and has committed $10 million to help its workforce grow.
