JAMES O’CONNOR, PRESENTER: We can’t say how long this will last.
We’ll find out over the next two weeks, but for now, sales have dropped by 70 to €1.3m.
That’s less than half of what was expected.
It’s a big disappointment.
We’re not sure what it means for the future of Jim Johns business.
Jim Johns is the iconic telegraph brand in the United Kingdom.
It’s one of the countrys most successful brands.
It has sold more than 2 million telegrams, or more than 20 million telexes.
We don’t know what’s going to happen to the business.
The number of telegraphs is rising, but the growth is going to slow down, and the number of sales has fallen.
Jim John is going into the summer of 2019 with the hope that its telegraph business will recover.
One of the reasons it’s been able to survive is the huge popularity of its telegram and telegraph advertising, especially in London.
You could see it everywhere you went.
They’re very popular.
Jim is not happy about that.
The business has had a tough year, with a series of closures.
A big part of that has been because of the Government’s decision to bring back a tariff on foreign imports.
We’ve lost all the big brands we’ve worked with over the years, and that’s a really tough blow.
But the other big thing is that our competitors are coming up with more innovative ways to use the telegraph.
I think it’s really sad, because you could see that the competition has been really strong in the last year.
Telegraphs are really central to the economy in this country, and it’s going through a period of disruption.
That’s something we’re really keen to avoid.
